A Rebuttal to "On Oathbinding: An Opinion"
Full Disclosure: I am the individual that Ma'ateo interviewed for his article in the Pulse, Issue 01, entitled "On Oathbinding: An Opinion." If you haven't read that before reading this, you may want to do so - it will make no sense, otherwise.
I will admit to being somewhat disheartened to read this article. The four very relevant points I laid out for why we do what we do were at…

The Real Pagan Pulse, Issue 01
Hey everyone! Happy New Year! (From Australia at least)
Here's the first issue of the brand new Real pagan 'zine; The Pulse. This'll be a monthly release, designed as a more personal practice-level spiritual webzine than the Pages (which is released for sabbats, of course).
This month, we have an awesome array of articles, some new, some familiar, as well as the first issue of the Real Kitten Pulse (a monthly webcomic) and a present for two very special…

30 Truths...11 & 12
I know I've been slacking on these lol! I've been really busy with work and keeping up with my group, I know excuses excuses...anyways here's #11 & #12!
Something people seem to compliment you on the most
This would have to be my personality. I always seem bubbly, out going, regardless how I'm really feeling inside or what's going on in my personal life. I'm a bottler, so I tend to stuff everything into a dark…

The Box the Key and the choice
If i handed you a key and told you that it went to the greatest power the world has every known, and then i told you where box the key went was followed by telling you that you couldnt open the box ever and left you to it. But before i leave you i tell you that one day someone will come and want you box.
1. would you open the box even though the person who gave you the greatest power the world has ever known told you not to ?
or
2. would you leave the box closed and…

A Guiding Hand
Recently I have been struggling with the decision whether to join a
traditional wicca coven or remain a solitary witch. I meditated on this
question often but couldn't seem to reach a feeling about it that seemed
concrete. This was the dream I had that seems to be connected to this
decision.
It was nighttime and I was standing in… Continue

The Temple Herb Cabinet
So, having purchased a bunch of materials to make my Yuletide Tobys for friends, I found that a couple of things I purchased were unnecessary - I already had them in my temple stock. So, I decided to take stock and see what I have for just that purpose. Thought I'd drop it here, just for giggles, honestly.

He Returns...
As the night wound on, I decided that I need to go home now. As I walked down the walkways I just got the strange feeling. It was familiar and it caused me to stop dead in my tracks. I stood there for possibly five minutes trying to place it. My heart was racing and fear was creeping up. In the back of my head… Continue

The Trial of Discipline
Things are great. i missed a journal entry yesterday, but my dailies were done. So far, discipline is gettign
fairly well back on track. I'm glad. I've been struggling for quite
some time. There were times I was wondering if I was fit for this
training and such. Yes, losing your discipline definitely breeds doubt.
Hmm.. I wonder if that is one of the causes of so many dropping away
from the training? Do we let ourselves… Continue

A Witch Is...
something like someone who does magic, or someone who reveres nature,
they are good and help people, and even oh their evil people. That
never says *what* a witch is.
Honestly, if I had to give one word to say what a witch is, it'd be Dreamer. The witch is that person
who looks beyond what lies in front of them. They see that which drifts
just outside of sight. They see both sides of the… Continue

Thoughts and Musings
To start with a bit of background on the through process that started all of this, lol.
A few days ago I was thinking over the various things I have read and that I have gleaned from things a couple people have said. As far as I understand it so far, much of Trad Craft is about knowing yourself and in a sense a form of spiritual alchemy. Thusly spending a fair
amount of time meditating and reflecting inwards to sift… Continue

Whence I Came
I'm 26 years old, 27 come June 22, and live in the Atlanta, GA area. I enjoy playing my violin and djembe (not very good at either, but I'm not too bad for a beginner), playing RPGs and fixing computers. Currently I work in a datacenter for a major internet company helping to keep their equipment running.
I have been interest in… Continue

In Honor of the Lares: Our Unexpected Adoption by Roman Household Deities
This is an article I wrote for the Society of Elder Faiths Yule 2009 Messenger newsletter. I hope people find it interesting, not only for the information on the Lares and Manes, but also for the surprising experience of having unexpected deities enter one's life.
****************************************************************
September 6th, 2009 marked the beginning of our second year in our house, and got me thinking of the somewhat strange series of occurrences that…

Re: Request for Assistance - Tarot Reading
This post is being written in response to Beorc's thread entitled Request for Assistance. It is a Tarot reading based on the question he asks there, using the Rider-Waite deck.

In and out of reality
It seems so long since I have been on the net for any length of time, right now my schedule is so hectic that I do not know which day it is, Working 2 jobs to support our household leaves me drained, it seems as though I am working or sleeping which leaves little time for Ari, which I know he misses. I know he feels bad because I have to put so much out but that is what you do in a true partnership if one can't the other…

Breaking through
I need to learn to be honest with myself. I have no problem admitting my faults and failures and taking responsibility for my actions, but that doesn't mean that I always know why it is important to admit my faults or even how to deal with them. Too often do I overlook them, forget them, move on. I let unneccesary things get to me, even though I try so hard not to. I imagine that I do things one way, when in reality it is the opposite. I was questioning my path and the…

Family Frustrations..Holidays Make it Happen
This Yule, was my first time celebrating as a Pagan. My husband and I decorated a Yule Log, talked to each other about the holiday, and it's importance and what it means, over a great bottle of red wine. He asked a lot of questions about my beliefs and we just had this awesome open discussion, I truly felt so free and I love my husband very much for being supportive of me and understanding, even if he doesn't share or totally agree with my views, he's such a gem!
The next…
