Eruandil Ophiuchus: Friend or Foe? The answer is neither.

Two years ago I was having a discussion with a friend of mine, who said "I'm not actually a Saggitarius, I'm born under the Serpent sign. I can't remember the name of it, it actually starts with an O. In a couple of years people will probably realise it's missing and make an uproar."
He was entirely correct. According to Time, MSNBC, and various other journals both online and off, there has been quite the uproar about the "new zodiac" and how it changed and how it's going to affect us.… Continue

Strata Note to my son regarding his sexuality...

***I copied this from my FB where I originally posted it there in response to LGBT teen suicides and hatespeak towards the LGBT community.  After reading Jennifer's forum post "Troubling Times,"  I felt it was appropriate to move here.  These are my  own sentiments towards my son, who is currently four.

Mommy loves you.  I love you…

Tambyr (Rissa) Deity: All for One, or One for All? (personal reflection)

I, personally, have multiple ideas of what Deity is/is not and some of those ideas can be somewhat contradicting. Tying into my other entry about energy, I see Deity as being the ring of energy that encompasses all, meaning that Deity is within everything that exists. At the same time, I also see "named Deities" as being separate pieces of the whole that can serve as one manifested force of energy within ritual or for a specific purpose.

Ex. Tyr being a God of war and strength,…

Austin Webb Faith

Ok so at work this morning i noticed that yet again the dry-erase board that is supposed to be filled with words of encouragement or serious notes of business was, yet again, covered in ignorant trash. So I took it upon myself to reverse the stupidity with something that kind of explains my travel to my kind of new found way of life, but at the same time have some sort of emotional and intelligent meaning for my colleagues as well. It is a poem (yes contrary to popular belief i have emotions…

Tambyr (Rissa) Magic: The Mechanics- Personal Reflections

For the sake of ridding confusion, "magic" can be defined as an act that uses energy to focus intent or will to produce an outcome. So what is energy? Is is not energy from the sun that plants use to grow and reproduce? Is it not energy that flows through batteries to power devices? From a scientific view, no one really knows exactly what energy is, beyond bits and particles, only that it exists and cannot be destroyed.

Energy can influence emotions and the way things grow. It…

Leisha My Life Card

As a personal exercise, I have spent years condensing down what I believe....with the idea that if you can condense down what you believe, everything you do should be a reflection of one or more of the principles that you live your life by.

Since I'm not the video blogging kind, here's what's on my card....this is what I live my life by:

The 10 Disney Management Principles

1. Make everyone's dreams come true.

2. You better believe it.

JLorian Young Old Mother and the Crow

"Tain't nothin' but Winter megrims, I s'pose,"

she said, plucking her specs from the end of her nose

and wiping a smudge from the edge of one lens

gazed out at the yard and the barn and the hens.

The sky was like flannel, 'twas dark and 'twas gray

and, though under her breath, I could still hear her say

(with a lump in her throat that might well have been tears)

that Spring had damned well best come early this year.

A dark, lonely crow…

YarrowSage (big sexy brain) Job interview!

Just a short little blog to let you all know that I have a job interview this Friday at 5pm for a full time sales associate position at a shoe store! Yay, let's hope I don't mess it up something fierce.

I do feel kinda conflicted that I am looking elsewhere for work, but I've gotta get out of there and perhaps into something that is better paying and more willing to promote me. I think that with my current job the last nail in the coffin so to speak was when two management…

Miss Nel (Spacious Feline) KittyNel's herbs. =D

I don't know if this will actually take off as a meme, but I wanted to try because I'm all happy after reorganising my petty collection of herbs. I just went through my herbs, wrote down everything I have, and now I'm posting it on here because I'm excitable and want to see what everyone else has in their herb collection. Soooo, if you're up to it, do a herb stocktake and blog what you have. =) I also think you can tell what's going on in a person's life by the herbs they have. I'm being nosy.… Continue

Oakthorne Get Your Hands Dirty

Get in there.

You know you've wanted to for a long time. You've been toying with it, talking about it, writing about it, thinking about it. Whatever it is you want to do, there is no reason not to, and every reason to do so.

At 8 pm, I could feel the Rolling Thunder of the Octavo Working pass overhead. In it, I could taste excitement, nervousness, elation and a sense of finally doing it. I wanted help in this not just for the power, but because magic is a way…

Tasha The definition of Insanity and What, 12 Steps to Living?

Disclaimer: This is NOT about any one person. It's just a rant inspired by many different happenings in various places on the net, over the past several months. Having said that, if the shoe fits, wear it!

The definition of insanity is repeating the same things over and over and expecting different results.

Miss Nel (Spacious Feline) Update on Jinx

Well it turns out that the owner neglected to tell me something. I messaged her back about being willing to adopt Jinx, and she chooses now to inform me that Jinx has stomach problems and requires and expensive food from the vet. A food I can't afford. Gods dammit. Continue

Dog Finding my Slavic/Medeteranian roots and Mermaid Wisdom

First of all, this is sorta a little book review that i want to share of a book that pleasantly surprised me.

The book in question is called Mermaid Wisdom. At first glance it just appears be a typical book about mermaids, such as the likes of the kind you get about Dragons and Faeries and other such mythical creatures containing short stories and fantastical illustrations.

While this book does contain stories and wonderful illustrations, it also goes in depth analyzing…

Flammeous Don't Believe Everything You Read On The Internet

Certain people have said this to me from time to time and I must confess that I didn't listen solely because it's hard to hear a good point under the guise of a sarcastic remark, in which the primary point of it being said was to shut me up or rile me up.  Needless to say, it didn't work too well for them (and for the record yes, I know I can be a stubborn brute at times).

Anyways, I suppose it doesn't matter 'who' said it and under 'what' pretenses it was said.  All in all;…
