A Hoodoo, Conjure and Rootwork Forum

This group is intended to be a forum for discussing Conjure, Rootwork and Hoodoo, a system of low magic that relies extensively on animal, vegetable and mineral curios, as well as a handful of other materials and techniques.

Hoodoo - not to be confused with Vodou - is not a religious system, though it does borrow elements of religious systems for use in its techniques. There is no pre-assumption of spiritual affiliation with Hoodoo, which borrows from a wealth of African, Native American (particularly those tribes found where the slave trade thrived) and European folk magic techniques.

If it's the one I wrote up, it's nails like the metal things you apply a hammer to. :) Pokey kind, not scratchy kind. ;)

Random Question, when a spell or charm asks for "nails" does it mean like to hang a picture kind of nail, or finger nail? lol. I'm wanting to do one of the ones for weight loss but I am confused...

How is everyone?  Hope you're all doing well!

I've been AWOL for a loooong time.

Nel, wish you had taken a picture of that grave.  Too funny!

There is a WWII vet buried near me whose middle name is "Merlin".

So I went for a walk with the girls today, around town and up to the graveyard. A whole lot of beautiful graves from the 20's. Some of them were unnamed and scattered, some were new, and during my browsing of the dead, I spotted a grave outside the confines of the graveyard. It belonged to a Ms. Edith Herbert. Here epitaph was only one work: "BALLS!"

Best. Dead Woman. Ever.

Soooo, naturally, I rummaged around in my walking bag, ignored the strange looks from my sisters, and bought the feck out of her grave dirt.

Ms. Edith was certainly the sort of woman I'd have liked to have known. ;)

Lucy,

Something i do, is when a charm or amulet dies i give it a proper burial like oak said. But i offer it some Tobbaco and a splash of whiskey i would do with any other beloved dead. but like i said thats just me.
