RealPagan- Paganism for the Real World

I've been more and more serious about my rootwork/conjure/hoodoo practice, and as such have setup all my master candles now.

I'd been looking for some of the glass-encased candles (Novena Candles,) for some time, and finally found them in a dollar store here, when I went looking for something else.  I never did (and don't remember) find whatever else I was looking for... but after purchasing a white, red, yellow, blue, and green novena in my change was even a nice, old, silver dime :)

I started, obviously, with the actual Master Candle.

To do this, I mixed some High John the Conqueror oil with my own blood.  Stepping back for a minute, I have always had a very hard time poking holes in myself.. I'm not sure why, but something about making myself bleed made me uneasy.  This time, I had no issue... I stared at the pin, and simply pushed it into the tip of my finger, then squeezed out a few drops of blood.  Mixing this with the High John felt "right," and also gave me a feeling of connection.

This mixture, I used to anoint the candle, both on the surface/top, and the wick.

After anointing, I lit a taper, and visualized the eternal fire of the universe, as I reached up high, then brought it down to light the master candle.  This, I let burn until it had enveloped the entire surface of the candle in a nice pool of wax, then I added a drop of Luck oil...  because that's me :P

I do not own a candle snuffer... so I put this out after letting it burn for quite some time, using a table spoon (Now my official candle snuffer.)

Then today, I purchased an orange and brown candle, which add to my set.  These are not the same as the others, but beggars cannot be choosers ;)

I have anointed each of my candles with an appropriate oil, and then lit them from the Master candle.  After letting them burn for some time, I added first 3 drops of High John, then 1 drop of Luck oil :)  I then charged my candles, individually, both with intent and with reiki and my own energy.

When lighting these candles, and anointing them, I did so separately..  That is, each time I would start the process from scratch, because I did not want to "mix up," the mojo.  Each time, I used a taper that I've encased in a shot glass (ahhh, wonderful candle holders,) of wax, to carry the flame from my Master candle, to the Master Purpose candles.

I'm done now.. And smell like Hoodoo!!! :D

Some pictures below:

Here we have my Master Candle, on a nice glass plate, and what's left of a mixture of John and my blood :)

This is the red one, and anointing it clockwise with 3 drops of oil.

Bringing the flame from the Master, to the purpose candle with a taper.

This is pulling the flame from the Master candle, but I wanted to point out the epic tablespoon candle snuffer and shotglass candle holders.

All my purpose candles, anointed, charged and burning happily...  In the background is the artwork on my fridge from Strata's little guy :)

Wow.. I really smell like Hoodoo!!! :)
