Celebrating the Wheel of the Year

I'm tentatively working on a reference manual concerning the seasonal celebrations Samhain, Winter Solstice, Imbolc, Beltane, Ostara, Litha, Lughnasadh and Mabon. I plan to include historical background, citations for further reading and information on their current adaptions - including examples from the practices of myself and others (fellow Real Pagans, perhaps?).

If you feel like sharing how you celebrate the wheel of the year, please comment or message me. I plan to put it on…

Herb of the Week: Lemon Balm

I love herbs and I love learning about them! I've been putting together a folder of a bunch of herbs and compiling everything about them. I have so many herb books---magical uses, medicinal uses, etc, but all the information is scattered between all the books and what I find online. So, I've been working on putting everything together into one piece. And then I thought--why not add this to a blog or something? So, I'm now doing an herb of the week blog post and this i my first... so here it…

Air, Fire, Water, Earth . . . Youth, Adult, Mother/Father, Crone/Sage

Last night as I was lying down to read Elements of Ritual by Deborah Lipp for the second time, I came to an interesting personal conclusion for viewing aspectual stages of the God and Goddess.

Crown of Success & Saint Expedite Ritual

My brother had a job interview today to land a very nice Flash Programming/Web Cartoon job that comes with a $1,000 sign up check.  I wanted him to succeed.  Very, very badly, not only because he is my younger brother and I love him to death and want him to succeed and be happy, but because once he gets settled in there is an opening on an upcoming project and I would be 'in like sin' so to speak.

So, what do I do to offer my brother support and look after my own interests at…

Pround to be an American: Finally getting the justice that this beautiful country diserves

Last night the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA has finally gotten the justice that it needed to receive for the past ten years ever since the attacks on this loving soil I call home. 9/11/01 has been the most painful thing that I had to go through because my family would've lost a wonderful mother/grandmother eairler than we wanted, but I can finally live my life again with peace of mind that I so longed to find this ten years that Bin Laden has been hiding from us. But we can't bring back all…

The Hidden People of Iceland

"Beliefs are a complex phenomenon, and rarely very easy to put into words. They express an attitude of the world around us, which has to be expressed in terms of the concepts and vocabulary available to us at any one time."

Some people talk of gods, others of aliens, fairies, spirits, and some of their ancestors or forefathers. For many centuries the Icelanders have talked of "nature spirits" (náttúrvættir), "elves" (álfar) or "hidden people" (huldufólk) that they believed lived… Continue
