Tomorrow is a Mystery.

But Today is a Gift.

That is why it is called the Present."

- Laurie Cabot

Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are. -- Chinese proverb

After your death, you will be what you were before your birth. -- Arthur Schopenhauer

Dreams are illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you. -- Marsha Norman

People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges. -- Joseph F. Newton

With magic comes great responsibility. It's not enough to possess the ability to use magic. One must have the wisdom and courage to use it for the good of the people. -- unknown

I may not be perfect, but I am perfectly me. I also respect that you are not perfect, but are perfectly you. It is that part of you that I love. -- Bonnie Rebecca Strayer

They're like Lay's potato chips... I just couldn't stop with one. :)

The weak find an excuse, the strong find a way.
- Leo Martello

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.
- Albert Einstein
...
To see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone.
-The Buddha

What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree, with flexible parts, on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it, and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millenia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.
- Carl Sagan

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion. For most men, it appears to me, are in a strange uncertainty about it, whether it is of the devil or of God, and have somewhat hastily concluded that it is the chief end of man here to "glorify God and enjoy him forever".
-Henry David Thoreau

"You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions. -- Naguib Mahfouz

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
-The Buddha

"After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box."
-Italian Proverb

"Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes."
-Unknown

"If there is no wind -- Row."
-Latin Proverb

"People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God... It was never between you and them anyway."
- Mother Theresa

"And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair..."

"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens..."

"We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them."
- Three favorite quotes from Khalil Gibran

"Obedient women are never remembered in history"
- Unknown

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
-Albert Einstein
