gay marriage????????

The ban on gay marriage is a violation of the separation between church and state. Also, the ban on gay marriage is wrong because it is allowing a majority to affect the rights of a minority, and thi…

Lark - For the Kisma stuff: Geocities closed down a while ago and all the sites that were built there are gone :( Do you know if any of the info is available elsewhere? I had a site on Geocities bef…

Plants are people too....

I have no problem with vegetarians or vegans as long as they don't rail against me when I have a steak. But I agree that there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding as far as the religious conce…

Hi Whind Ryder,   I went through pretty much this exact same scenario except that my boyfriend and I are not planning on getting married anytime soon. We're both happy with just being together and that includes cohabitating.   When I first met his f…

Serpent, I once believed the same as you.  I even spoke strongly about the rights of everyone to use it...   Then I realized I was clinging to a word like a life preserver... without any reason at all.  Seriously... because a few books had misrepres…

Oak -- I am giving serious thought and consideration to what you are saying, mulling it over to see if I can find agreement. I'm not trying to be contrary, I just wanted to express my thoughts and offer reasons for them because it was getting diffic…

All Wiccans are Witches but not all Witches are Wiccans. I believe this is one of the best lines ever. :D Wicca is a religion of witchcraft. Has been, will be. Being a Wiccan without Witchcraft is like a Catholic without Mary or the Sacraments. Not…

Alorer - I understand the site's definitions, and I prefaced my post with that:    "It took me a long time and a lot of contemplation to decide whether or not to express this because it's not my intention to cause problems. I undertand and respect t…

Dang, forgot to add the Z. Budapest quote... oh well, I will simply wholeheartedly agree with Leisha. By her standards I am not a Witch. But hey, by her standards I should not practice magic in ANY form because I a man... Anyway... I have some quest…

As in any religion, there is a core set of beliefs, a credo, that establishes what the religion is and how it is defined.   Okay...as one outsider to another, what would you say are the core beliefs of Wicca?

Serpent: Wicca meant witch in Saxon. As Alorer pointed out, we don't speak Saxon. We speak English.   When you migrate one word from one language to another, its meaning often changes. It's why you and I are not, in fact, having intercourse right no…

Oak: My usage of the word is in the understanding I have that Wicca means Witch, albeit limited in its particular fashion to Britain, but I don't consider it to be limited in definition to only BTW craft. I understand the view that BTWs have of it,…

*sigh* I'll bite due to the gross mistakes in this...   Catholicism is the only and oldest form of Christianity until the Reformation?! This theologian just choked with this HUGE chunk of historical inaccuracy. Catholicism has the EXACT same age as…

I have never posted a blog before on an Ning site, I wasn't aware that it was set to screening comments. When I posted, it had the options to allow views and allow comments and I had selected 'everyone' for both of those. It wasn't my intention to b…

Please stop separating them.   That, I'm afraid, isn't going to happen.   Your indication of the use of Wicca in general is based in the Anglo-Saxon language, not English. The first actual public use of this term was by the New Forest witches. Prior…

Extending the Selena Fox analogy, would you feel that she should call herself a military veteran and ask to be buried in Arlington because she's done work for military rights and has worked with military professionals?    The problem isn't with the…

About Me
I am a priestess, a teacher, a stargazer, a healer, a lover of caves and forests, waters, stones, herbs, and flowers. I am sister to all animals but have an affinity with serpents, wolves, cats, racoons, and ravens. I am not separate from others, be they human, animal, vegetable, mineral, or ethereal, rather I acknowledge the life force, the Divine, that connects us all. I am a worker of magic, a singer of incantations, a prophetess of signs and omens, of augurs and portents. I am a layer of tricks and caster of spells. I am a weaver of energy and the elements, a daughter of the infinite and walker between the worlds. I am a rootworker and cunningwoman. I craft charms and enchantments. I know how to curse as well as cure. I walk in balance between light and darkness, knowing that both are necessary and knowing that to forsake either one entirely for the other leads to blindness and incapacitation. I descend into mystery and arise with new thought and knowledge for myself and others. I am passionate, charismatic, intelligent, creative, poetic, strong, flawed, insightful, communicative, confident, loving, and deeply spiritual. I love life and respect death because I am conscious of the cycles of all things. I dance the Spiral Dance.

I am a Witch.

I call myself Wiccan, but I'm not BTW

I'd like to start off by saying I have a lot of respect for BTWs. My first teacher was a Gardnerian high priestess, and while I didn't initiate with her and claim no Gardnerian lineage, I did learn a great deal from her and I'm very thankful for that.

I also have a lot of respect for the creators and moderators of this site, as well as the experienced and seasoned elders of the various traditions we have represented here. It took me a long time and a lot of contemplation to decide…
