It's no Jesus on toast but it meant a lot to me at the time. I was backpacking 65 miles on Isle Royal, MI and I found this star image when I was really tired. Thought you would appreciate it also. It was some sort of fungus growing in that shape.

Very cool.

I too, have found things in the woods.  It can be a great wake-up call.

Beautiful example of natural simulcra.  Thanks for sharing!

Do you believe that this star was a curiosity, a mere coincidence?

Or do you believe that you were in some way guided there to see it by a higher power?  And, continuing along that line of thinking, do you believe the fungal growth was guided into the star shape by a higher power (or something else?)

You stated that it meant a lot to you at the time - if I may ask, what precisely did it mean to you? (Do you believe that it was some kind of message, for instance?)

TIA

To me it is a little more complex than weather if I believe if it was a coincidence or not. It doesn't matter to me personally. But for the most part, I generally don't think of myself as that important to universe, only a part of it.

But as for your second question: It wasn't really that deep of a thinking situation. I kinda took a break after a long stretch of scrambling up and down a rocky path, and took a second to relax and soak in nature and feel the energy of the moment. Which is something you can only experience.

Though the questions were not directed to me, I'll selfishly jump in here.

I have been drawn to places in a particular forest over the past few years and have found interesting things. I’ve hiked this forest about 3 times a week for 20 years.

This was from a couple days ago.  The woods felt extra ‘strong’ that day and animals were doing odd things. It was mostly buried except for a little bit showing.  I was hiking and felt I should hang at a place for a while and I looked down and saw it.  It looks to me like the rune Othila.
