I've read quite a few articles written my respected members of the craft that are surprisingly disparaging to 'allowing' mentally ill people to practice the craft or join covens. One in particular that I recall said that no mentally ill person should be allowed in the circle as it might screw up the energy.
Now I've been Bipolar for a bit longer than I've been Pagan (10 years Pagan 15 Bipolar) When I started learning about the craft I was unmedicated and only had a few problems… Continue

My brother had a job interview today to land a very nice Flash Programming/Web Cartoon job that comes with a $1,000 sign up check. I wanted him to succeed. Very, very badly, not only because he is my younger brother and I love him to death and want him to succeed and be happy, but because once he gets settled in there is an opening on an upcoming project and I would be 'in like sin' so to speak.
So, what do I do to offer my brother support and look after my own interests at… Continue

Tonight I made my first petitioner candle on behalf of a classmate's brother. He was severely wounded last week in a motorcycle accident and lies in critical condition in the hospital with a fractured pelvis that continues to fall apart, in spite of surgery.
Today my classmate, whose name will be omitted for privacy, tearfully told me that he was suffering liver failure. This is a very sad situation in itself, but to add to the misery, his wife is expecting her first child any day… Continue

Beginning at a little after 10:30 tonight, whilst flinching at the torrential downpour and ridiculous amount of thunder and lightning, I started dressing and lighting my Master Spirit Candle, my DIY Saint Expedite Candle and four Master Purpose Candles: blue for healing, green for money/success, red for love/inter-human relationships and black for my Black Cat lucky candle. What can I say, I like to play the lottery and my partner is a Poker fiend!
I anointed the Master Spirit Candle… Continue

Semita Magus, which means "The Path of the Mage," is the "official" name for the path I have chosen for myself. That is to say, that is the name I have given it, as my path is nearly unique and thus falls to me to name. It is not a grand title, nor is it anything assuming. I do not associate myself with the term "witch," nor do I consider all magical practices or spellwork to be "witchcraft." Rather, I find myself resonating in a much deeper level and with better associations with the… Continue

But if a friend asks you to do magic with it, by all means. Continue
Beorc Kano recently put up a post requesting the use of candle magic by other people, in which he outlined the process by which he would perform this particular act.
I, as usual, have an alternate but effective approach. With Beorc's permission, I am still joining into this purpose using my alternate approach.

In my opinion, a playgan is someone who is not serious about their work. They surround themselves with everything that, to them, symbolises "Pagan" regardless of its use. They do the things that they think makes them a witch, not what works for them, or what their practice (if they claim to have one) requires.
Am I one?
I used to be. I also used to be one of those fluffy-bunny neo-wiccans. Am I anymore? No.
Does that mean I know what I am? Gods no.

Some of you have read my essay introduction to color magic (it can be found here
). Contained therein are some of the color definitions, but not many. This list is a much more complete listing of colors and their uses or definitions depending on the difference between active casting and passive use. The Passive colors are for things like draping a cloth over an altar and the effects it… Continue

Welcome my lovelies !I recently completed a huge protection ward /witches wreath for a friend .This offered up the ideal opportunity for me to share some of the how to of crafting a ward of protection.First off she had her own wreath form she wanted used. Although very nice it was too flimsy to weave the center or support what was going to go on it ,I solved this by tying in a smaller sturdier wreath to the center ,thus creating a stable palet to add to.Before tying the smaller wreath to the… Continue

So...... I have seen a lot of comments and questions in discussion, chat, and blogs on several sites pertaining to "black" and "white" magic. I have seen newbies ask whether they should avoid books because they contain "black magic" and seen members refer to themselves and "white witches."
Black magic does not exist, neither does white. Nor does green, or blue, or any other color you can imagine. Magic is magic. It's really that simple. I understand that some people utilize these… Continue

We've all see books with titles like "True Magick". We've read authors that seemed determined to convince us that "magic" and "magick" were completely different things. We've seen people insist that they weren't. Perhaps we didn't understand. Here I'll explain just want the difference between… Continue
