My grandmother died yesterday morning.

I found out just before dinner. My phone has been disconnected, so Dad couldn’t contact me until I got home and could use Jai’s phone.

Let me preface this by saying: I admit it. I'm a low magician. Low magic really is what I do best.

With that said, I'm really, really sick and tired of the absurd concept that "all the magic comes from in you." It is with this philosophy that neopagans tell one another that tools, materials and all the other physical aspects of spellwork are extraneous. The magic is within you, it comes from within you, it's not in those things.

The other day I was making an ATC for a zodiac swap and I was looking for references to with Cancer in "The Wicca Handbook" by E. Holland, then I was looking at the letters section and spelt my name out and most of the letters in my named were associated with Hecate, death/rebirth, and similar things. So I read every page with Hecate's name on it to see if this wasn't an idle doodling of sorts.

So I'll be looking into her more over the next few weeks. It's probably just a coincidence…
