Where did the summer go?

Lammas is tommorrow, monday August 1st, here in the northern hemisphere. I knew that this day was coming just like I knew it was last year, and the year before.

August is a month full of mixed feelings for me, because only 14 days after the 1st I'll be turning 20 years old. However, August is also the last month of summer. I always feel a nagging dissapointing feeling in the pit of my stomach, because I always feel like summer goes by so fast. New England doesn't really get that…

What Might Be My Last Plea For Help

I've posted here and talked a bit on my youtube channel about my HUGE project that I've been working on.  I revealed on YT a few months ago that this website is about ritual, and that I really needed help.  Well, that is still very much true.

You see, I've given myself a deadline that I need to actually meet which is in 32 days.  I'm presenting at my local Pagan Pride Day this year (the workshop will hopefully be able to be filmed if I can work it out so that just I am on…

Hidden children, hidden practice

Soon I will be moving to a place quite far from my home and will have to awaken at heinous hours in the morning to arrive at varsity and will be cramped and things will be kept in storage until I have enough money to move out on my own, closer to work and my boyfriend-who takes care of his parents.

These things are tough and scary but the most troubling of all is that I'm going to have swallow my pride and go back into the broom closet, for my mothers sake who needs to…

I Miss you all here at Realpagan so much!!! I am so sorry i haven't been around... I have been trying to stay out of these sites (mostly the forums) because i'm in training, and until I have completed my training... I am trying to keep my thoughts as uncompromised as possible.  Not saying of course that  you  guys don't have knowledgeable information... I'm just staying true to the beliefs that i am learning in my particular path.

And usually if i do read something…

Homemade Conjurer Lamp

This is a work in progress and just thought I would throw the idea out there for others to experiment as well.

When we dive down into the roots of hoodoo, we will find that many things were conjured with oil lamps and not candles.

So in taking from the old tradition and applying it.  I…

Animals over plants? Plants over animals?

I've been watching some youtube videos lately and the topic of veganism & vegetarianism has been coming up.

I think vegetarianism is a great way to eat, and I also think it's a great lifestyle. I've tried to be a vegetarian multiple times but have managed to fall through on all accounts. It's not that I have an addiction to meat, but the meals that are made usually consist of chicken or beef. I've also noticed that vegan items are pretty pricey, and not possible to fit in…

Young grandmothers and old kids

Grandmothers are awesome. Let me start with that. I like my grandmother, and my step-grandmother, and the both of them are delightful elderly women who each bring something to my life that shapes me and helps me grow; you know, nice things. One of them still bakes a cake whenever I come over (the step one) and the other reminds me to be careful in matters of romance (grandma) since the latter is down right miserable in her marriage to my grandfather.

However lately someone at…

Where is the Goddess in my mother?

I'm going to be completely honest with this beloved Pagan community of mine, and perhaps, those of you who know me better already have an idea, but there is something that I need to get off of my chest.

I rather dislike my mother. No, seriously, I just don't like her.

From the statement above a lot of emotions quickly come forth and rattle through me. Like shame, disrespect, disgrace, fear of judgement (from all of you), and of course hatred. But, it seems to…

Trying to find my path.

For the past year and a half I have been practicing a solitary version of Wicca and I noticed that I felt more emotion from my rituals than I had ever felt in any church. But I am still pretty "fluffy" with how much I know about Wicca and am still somewhat searching to find what fits me best. I know I love nature, am drawn to wolves, and sometimes lean toward Celtic Paganism. How do i find where I fit? I am having a somewhat hard time trying to teach myself everything i need to know due to the… Continue

In The Hedge Witch's Garden....Verbena bonariensis ,Lovely And Easy To Grow

Verbena is better known by witches as Vervain herb.

Vervain was considered a "lightning plant" and was sacred to Thor. It was also sacred to the Druids, "and was only gathered by them, 'when the dog-star arose, from unsunned spots'"

For Italian witches, vervain was…

Have all the good rituals been done?

Within various systems of philosophy, the question comes up at some point as to whether all the _______ have been done. Have all the original songs been written? Have all the thoughts been thought? Have all the original books been written? Have all the original movies been made?

This morning, I got an e-mail about a local eclectic coven's newest offering.... Saturday services. The gist of it is a service where people get together for "a silent contemplation, readings from…

Setting My Lights: The Hekatean Way

First of all, I apologize for the lack of pics in this. I remembered when everything was done and cleaned up. :\ Sorry.

Recently, I managed to buy a few supplies: a few candles, a large novena candle, sandalwood incense sticks and lavender cones (uh they are some kind of incense cone thingy that you burn) as well as lavender and jasmine essential oils. ^_^ Admittedly, I am not 100% sure if the oils are legit but the smell is so strong I think they are the real stuff. Anyway,…

Healing Energies Needed.

My little friend Brooklyn Saige will be seven this month.  She was rushed to the hospital last night with tremendous fever and still today they are not sure what is wrong.  They think it might be her appendix, a bad virus, or her ovaries.  She is a unique child, in that all her organs are either backwards or upside down inside her body.  So they are worried that her ovaries are twisted in some way.  Please, if you could, light a candle or send a little healing this way.

She is one…

Anyone Know of a good way to say goodbye to your home?

Crazy little witch from the abyss calling.

Ring.... Ring... Ring... Ring... *answer dammit*! Ring...

Well my impending insanity behind. We are having to pack up and leave and the only home I've had in a long time will be nothing but a mere memory. The sacred willow and sturdy mulberry are dear to my heart, but they will no longer be a part of my life as our family has to pack up everything and find a place to live with our zoo-cart of…
