Hey y'all, thought this would be a fun discussion to see how everyone was drawn to their path. I myself was very interested in (Egyptian) mythology ever since I was in fourth grade. In eighth grade,…Continue

The group has been quiet for awhile. Anyone researching or developing an aspecty of their practice that they want to start a topic on?

There's an excellent book by Judy Harrow called "Devoted to You" that describes in depth how one goes about developing a relationship with a Patron deity and how that relationship might impact your life.  I'd highly recommend it to anyone seeking to better understand how the relationship develops and how to properly honor your Patrons.

that certainly helps. Thanks

@ CEWsony9... well that's the thing about patron deities, the person does not choose them, the gods choose the person. "patron deity" is an often misused term and misunderstood concept among Neopagans. The gods are not here to serve us, they are higher beings we mortals seek to connect with. So don't worry about "picking" one, focus on deciphering what it is that makes you feel interested or drawn to certain deities and things will progress from there.

I'm still figuring it all out. I just know I love those things enough to incorporate them into my path.

Curious.. what about your beliefs and/or practices are distinctly Norse? What about Greek? And Wicca? Spirit guides don't really fit into any of them, as their roots lie in some Native American peoples' belief systems.

to be honest, its a mix of Norse pantheon, Greek/Roman, and Wiccan. I can't honestly decide on a patron deity, but I have a strong connection to Artemis, and I have a few spirit animal guides as well. Hope that helps explain it.

ok, thanks. I'll try that.

does anyone have any advice for starting a Book of Shadows or a "magickal journal"? I have a few bits of information that I started, but I don't know how to move forward. Much appreciated!

Blessings
