The Kitchen Witch's Creed
In this pot, I stir to the sun
An' follow the rule of harming none.
Banishment of bane when goin' winddershins;
An' with water and salte negativity is cleansed.
Household duties are more than chores,
Magic abounds when mopping floors.
With this broom, I do sweep
To clean my house and safely keep.
Marigold, Basil, Thyme and Yarrow
My spell is cast for a better tomorrow.
Lemons for joy and apples for health,
The power within brings great wealth.
And, in this kitchen I do pray
To truly walk the Witches Way.

Hail and Greetings.
I have just started researching Kitchen Witchery, as a chef I feel very much at home in the kitchen and I am looking for a closer connection with the Lord and Lady, and a way to bring more magic into my life. I am wondering is there special way I should celebrate Mabon as a kitchen witch?

An so it harm none do as ye will
in order to eat you have to kill a living thing wether domesticated and breed for food or hunted for food one must still kill plants, lake life sealife or animals for food; and for those that say havesting is not killing i say really?; If trees were not harvested for their nuts, lemons, limes, oranges, apples, cherries apricots, peaches, plums, bannanas, coconuts and necterines what would happen to all that fruit and all those nuts?; they would decay and decompose and become food for the land and the plants.
When people walk they do so on land, grass ,rock or chemicals which are derrived from the earth. furthermore prefab housing is still derrived from trees, metals or chemicals which are also derrived from the earth and used to make domicies therefore saying an so it harm none do as ye will makes no sense. So the house and all that is in the house comes from the earth including those that dwell within the house. In order for there to be no harm to come to the earth humans could not exist.

Comment by Grayson on February 22, 2012 at 6:29 Yes Eric, I'm a fan of the brown rice risotto too, I often add a couple of handfulls of camargue red rice to it too, this red rice has to be cooked separatly though, it takes an age to cook!
Or another winner Dsuyentor is a Biryani, I make a Veggie one for my self, but have made a nice Lamb one for guests.
I'll pop a (as always with me) rough recipe on here.
Comment by Eric Reany on January 12, 2012 at 23:43 Hi all...new to this group, oh and for the brown rice, I use just cheap brown rice, but if you cook it risotto style with onions, garlic, and in my opinion mushrooms and just slowly add water or stock of your choice little by little it comes out great (but get the normal rice not the 10 minute cooking crap...lol)

Comment by Tawny on June 26, 2011 at 0:44 Hi EmJ!!
Well this is just my opinion and what works for me...
I Kind of view it along the lines with the moon cycles, clockwise or waxing: counter clockwise or waning....
If i wanted to banish something counterclockwise, like i made a headache tea for my hubby, and I stirred that counterclockwise to help rid him of the headache... but i tend to really stir clockwise to bring in positive energy to anything i make or cook...
Thats what I tend to do in my practice... =)
its all about you and your intent, so if you feel better doing it your way then you should do that!!
