Divination 101

A group designed to teach, discuss, and discover the different forms of divination. Be it Tarot, Runes, Fire Gazing/Scrying, or Palm Readings. All are welcome!

There are several different forms of Divination, from Tarot to Oracle cards. Tea leaves to reading bones or entrails, rune stones, crystal balls, palm reading, the possibilities are endless.

I created this group in hopes that it'll grow as a useful tool to those that are well versed in one form of Divination, maybe more, and to those trying to find the tool that works for them.

I hope everyone will participate and help this group grow just like this amazing site has grown!

Well, I am a total newby, but I checked my tarot deck (Tarot Doré.. Guilded I believe it's called in english) and there aren't any lettres or + sign. This deck is based on the Rider deck. I also checked the accompanying book to see if they would explain anything ressembling what is included on the Rider, but no...

Sorry I can't be of any help. Good luck!

I'm not really sure.  I work with mostly faerie based decks.  I want to get a Rider deck one day...too many days I end up with a migrane trying figure out what the faeries are trying to tell me lol!  I'm sure Shawn, Oak, or Ari could answer your question.

I'm just starting a more thorough study of the tarot (after yeeeeears away from it) and came upon the High Priestess today. I use the Rider deck and couldn't help but notice the pillars that have B and J on them, and the Priestess in the middle has +, which doesn't seem to be a cross, so to my mind it looks like B+J...starting to study ceremonial magick and seeing some symbolism there, but what in the world is B+J? Anyone know? Or is this one of those *mysteries*? Thanks, and nice to meet everyone!

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for lack of new material.  I've been really busy adjusting to my new schedule at work, I hopefully will be settled in soon.  I have some ideas for new threads, but if anyone has an idea or a question go ahead and post it.

Don't be afraid...I don't bite...just nibble lol!

Anyone who's interested in seeing my tarot reading "in action" (as it were), I recently did a tarot read blog for a site member here.

Aradia's Light: I absolutely use the Inverse card meanings. It's part of having a deck with a truly versatile set of potential messages. Think about it - a deck of 78 cards has 78 messages, or 156 messages if the Inverse are taken into account. Using them is a little more complex, certainly, but worth it for giving your deck DOUBLE the potential for precise communications.
