Divination 101

A group designed to teach, discuss, and discover the different forms of divination. Be it Tarot, Runes, Fire Gazing/Scrying, or Palm Readings. All are welcome!

There are several different forms of Divination, from Tarot to Oracle cards. Tea leaves to reading bones or entrails, rune stones, crystal balls, palm reading, the possibilities are endless.

I created this group in hopes that it'll grow as a useful tool to those that are well versed in one form of Divination, maybe more, and to those trying to find the tool that works for them.

I hope everyone will participate and help this group grow just like this amazing site has grown!

It can be a difficult task to put aside intuition and read the cards without flavoring their meanings with knowledge of a person. The answer? Be a purist, allow the card meanings that you know and understand to shine through without the trappings of intimacy. Do not ask a question when reading, but rather allow the cards to lead you to what they would tell you, not what you already know.

Each of the cards is an archetype and as such should be interpreted that way. Your interpretation of the pips, courts and arcanum should be cut and dried, it is your interpretation of the way that they play together in a reading that will make you a powerful reader. Don't bastardize the meanings of the cards and reality check yourself on your interpretations of their interactions, you will find again your abilities.

Hi, I'm new here. I've been reading Tarot for a long time. I've been out of practice for many years and am picking it up again. I've run into lots of obstacles, mainly my own brain. When I know someone, I seem to read their cards by the knowledge I have of that person. Is there anything wrong with that? How do I get a general reading from people I know without being influenced by what I know about them?

It is not what holds the mirror but your use of it that is important. When you focus on the trivial you take away from where your will and intent should be situated. Treat it like the tarot, it is the cards and their interpretation that are important, not the bag you keep the cards in.

I have been into Witchcraft since 1982. I work a lot with the tarot. I too am trying my luck at scrying. I have a black mirror but the outside that is holding it in place is plastic. Should it be wood?

Greetings my name is Sage and I just joined this group. I am from Newfoundland, and I have been a pagan since high school. I am intrested in Tarot, Runes, and Scrying.

I had tried scrying in my on the night of the blue moon and I am looking for help with the interpretation of what I saw. I tried using my dream dictionary and it didn't have explanations for what I saw. I saw a lot things associated with the ocean, sea horses, mermaids and a ships and a dolphin.  I didn't ask a question really, I was more looking to see what I saw.  I would be grateful for any help provided for making sense of what I saw.

 Blessed be
