Oi. Grayson.

I want those eggs, too. :/

LOL Now, if my own roots can *finally* make it here, so I can start brewing my own... I steeped red sandalwood in oil, and it doesn't change the color one bit. It gave it a nice scent, though, so I'll use it for my own High John oil. I've added Dragon's Blood to it, too. Where are those roots? *pouts at snail mail*

Well, you were right Strata, the dragons blood did make my oil change colour. Using a pestle and mortar I ground up some resin then added some oil, to make a paste, this helped the colour spread into the main bottle of oil. It worked a treat!

It's very much used here, especially as a decorative tree, and for hedges - and we're no exception, I've got some flanking my front and garage door. It even made its way into a colloquial expression, the "cedar hedge syndrom", which refers to bottom-levelling.

Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar (Cyprus) are the two highest value trees here in terms of softwood lumber, for decorative purposes. The native peoples where I live also have a very, very long history of using the tree for everything from totem poles, to cloth (the bark can be beaten, then woven into cloth.)
