RealPagan- Paganism for the Real World
Hello all! I've recently begun to do more active seeking for Gardnerian and Alexandrian covens accepting trainees. There is a coven in Asheville, NC that would be perfect for me, but I wanted to run them by you guys first, to determine if they are legit. Their coven name is "Oldenwilde" and their HPS goes by the name "Lady Passion".
I have tried checking her out on WitchVox, but her initiatory claim just looks dubious to me. Maybe I'm overly suspicious. I don't know. If any of you lovely Gardnerians would be so kind as to let me know whether or not she and her coven are the real deal, I would be so, so grateful!

Do Gards REALLY have an "ultimate, sublime 3rd degree"? I saw that on their website and it does seem a little overly sublime. But new people are very susceptible to that kind of thing. Their students are in for a painful shock when and if they mature in the Craft and they have my sympathy.

I've gotta agree with Ashe as far as feeling bad for their students. It's one thing when you tell your students that you are legit, and another thing when you say as such, and then you aren't and then you're all sorts of "shocked and stunned" when BTW's are vetting you and finding out that you are not legit.
If they want to have their own magical traditions, I'm fine with that, just don't go claiming that you are part of a specific path when you aren't. Personally, that sounds really easy to me. So it goes.

Well, the 3rd degree is often described as "ultimate and sublime". It is after all the ultimate degree attainable in Gardnerian Craft (being the last and highest degree there is), and having attained it, I can say that to me it certainly seems sublime. But that's really just flowery language. It isn't named that or anything, it just is sublime to those who put so much effort into reaching it and to those who have gone before and helped others to find their way.
