I'm going to place some resources here for events and groups in East TN.  Feel free to add any that you come across.

Knox Area Pagan Meetup

This is a meetup group, obviously in the Knoxville area, that is in my opinion fan-TAB-ulous.  This is the community that I am personally a part of.  We hold Drum Circles, East TN Pagan Pride Day, TradShare, Meet and Greets, Masquerade Balss, and the occasional odd ball thing.  We are a large group and a very diverse one.  We are also a very active group.  There are other meetup groups in the area.  IMO, this is the best.

Knoxville Area Witches

This group is not just for witches, it's an extension of the group above.  However, this group is private because events are held at private residences. This group primarily hosts ROC, Rotating Open Circles.  Each month, a different tradition or group host an open circle at their place.  It is a wonderful opportunity to experience different traditions and paths and how they work.  Like I said, this groups is private, but, if I know you personally, I can get your application accepted.

Serpent Stone

From their website:

...An ever-expanding circle of Wiccans, Pagans, Native Americans, & magickal fok dedicated to the Pathways of the Spirit. Headquartered in the mountains of the Asheville, NC area, we serve a large and diverse Pagan Community in seven southeastern states, with extended family members from all over the USA. We sponsor very affordable regional gatherings on or near most of the Major Festivals. Our family is made up of a diverse group of like-minded spiritual folks, amongst whom can be found different traditions and eclectic paths, and who teach, network, and/or counsel.

They hold several gatherings in Splendor Hollow, TN every year.

Green Earth Emporium

This is the only legitimate "pagan friendly" store in the Knoxville Area.  It is not your *occult* shop, but they do carry *some* occult supplies., like candles, incense, statues, stones, ect.  They also have African Drumming lessons.  I would say they are well worth a visit.

Erin's Meadow Herb Farm

I ADORE this place.  This is an herb farm, located in Oakridge, with two large gardens and three greenhouses.  They also have dried herbs and essential oils.  Every Saturday they offer Herbal Classes.  Some of these classes are free, but most are in the $20 range to help pay for the supplies.  You usually get to take goodies home. Erin's also has an Herb Club, which meets the first Tuesday of every month.  Membership is free.  The owner, Cathy, is not pagan.  She is Catholic, but she *is* pagan friendly.

Adam's Apple

"Pagan friendly" store located in Maryville, TN inside Foothills Mall. If they don't have what you are looking for they will order it if possible. Also, if they have something that you want but it's a bit out of your price range at the moment, they have lay away! Very very nice family run business.  The address, for those who need to google.maps it is:

154 Foothills Mall

Maryville, TN 37801

I will add more as I come across them.

My, my, Knoxville, you have grown in the last 12 years, from when I last lived here-- I just moved back a couple of months ago to those that do not know. Back in 98, we only had Crystal Visions in East Town/Knoxville Center Mall, which is a notable mention because they do have a decent inventory of occult goods, and only a couple eclectic circles in the county, and whispers of a Golden Dawn temple hidden somewhere about...and I will totally be in forever debt to whoever may confirm such a place does exist!

Thanks for starting this list, Strata! Does any of those groups come with your high recommends?
Well, I guess I should put my votes for recommendation on the first two links that Strata posted since I am a part of the planning committee for activities hosted by them. LOL Actually, if you want to see a cross-section of active Pagan groups in the Knoxville and surrounding areas, TradShare is the last Saturday of February coming up and is being hosted by the Knox Area Pagans meetup. The goal of TradShare is to gather a variety of Pagan groups together with information concerning their particular traditions so the community can learn more about each of them. Most of these active groups will host a table with information available. Several of them will hold discussions or workshops to give people a deeper look. Some will be closed to new members. Others will be open to outer court seekers. The main idea of TradShare is not for recruitment, per se, but to educate non-members on what each group is about in an effort to build bridges and garner a greater understanding within the myriad that is the Pagan Community. By no means will every active Pagan Group be represented, but TradShare really does make things easier for those who are looking around the community to come into contact with people who they may resonate with spiritually. I can't answer your question about a Golden Dawn Temple being in the Knoxville area, but I would bet that if there is, some of the people showing up at TradShare might know, especially those who have walked a Pagan path in the Knoxville area longer than I have.

Might I also suggest Adam's Apple? They are located in Maryville at the Foothill's Mall. It's very convenient for us who don't live directly in the Knoxville area. They offer lots of pagan/witchy things for whatever your need is. If they don't have it they will order it if possible. Also, if they have something that you want that's a bit out of your price range at the moment, they have lay away! Very very nice family run business as well and exceedingly "pagan friendly". Especially friendly, considering there's a baptist church on just about every street corner in Maryville. lol
I HIGHLY reccomend the first group, and attending TradShare, which I will be putting more info about up soon. (Thanks Fera for explaining what that is) If you are interested in becoming part of the local community, the first link is the way to go. :)
added! Thanks, Laura!

Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but starting Friday May 13th, I will be reading the Runes at the Green Earth Emporium. Feel free to drop by and check it out.
Would love to... but Shawn and I are getting handfasted that day! :)  I'll try to catch you another time! :)

Hi there!  I just came across realpagan.net and joined this group as well, with Lark's recommendation. :)  I opened a pagan / metaphysical / occult store in South Knoxville, called Downtown Curiosities, just a few months ago.  I will be offering classes at the store later in the year, as well as expanding the store to include a coffee/tea bar with Wi-fi and seating for small group meetings, classes, etc.

I have a pretty extensive selection of loose herbs (over 80 varieties), incense, ritual candles, oils, tarot cards, books, stones, ritual tools, etc.  It's a happy little place. :)

I look forward to your visit if you're in my neck of the woods - more info is on my website: DowntownCuriosities.com or my Facebook page is a great way to see what's new and happening: Downtown Curiosities on Facebook

Have a great day, and brightest blessings!

Meleah, Downtown Curiosities

Just want to let everyone know that Adam's Apple has a new location. They are now at 377 Ellis Ave, Maryville, TN 37804.
