I picked Tulsi because I devote myself to Lakshmi and I know that is representative of her, but I do like the sandlewood very much and want to get an Amethyst Mala as well...I love the way Amethyst makes me feel:-)

tulsi mala is very good . tulsi and sandalwood malas r good for gayatri mantra.

but with the tulsi mala, one needs to be careful and keep it safe and away from dirt. and u must always have a bath before u use the tulsi mala. thts what they say. mine is a sandalwood mala. tulsi is basil basically.

jenni .. about malas -

- whenever u chant any mantra, ur devotion and feeling towards it is of utmost importance. since every word in the mantra goes directly into the universe. all the gods are also a part of the universe. mala is important but it is secondary.

- about the malas, u can have different malas for different mantras. sandalwood for gayarti, rudraksha for any mantra that involves lord shiva.. eg. aum namah shivaya, maha mrityunjaya mantra etc, the amethyst is the colour of ur crown chakra but ur mala need not be made of it. but if u have it then no problems.

what i am trying to say is, the mala is an essential component, but the most important thing is ur feeling and appreciation towards whatever u chant :)

well.. atleast now i am here ;) .. i am wondering wht to share 1st. lets see. i'll keep puting whatever comes in my mind .. some links, some theories and some essential concepts in spirituality that i had learnt from the master. but my main focus will be on spirituality. i dont worship gods ... only the universe. the universe is the supreme soul ..  the creator of all.
