Sexual Magick

Please make a note that the term "sexual magick" is not synonymous with "sex magick".  This group is centered on the concept of the union of opposites which includes "sex magick".

The word Magick (with a "k") is used to specify a single definition of the word as introduced with the alternate spelling by Aleister Crowley.  To prevent a common misunderstanding, in this group, "magic" is defined as below.

Magick:  The science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with Will.

Tantra-- Not 'Sex Magic'

As per request. :)This has been a post a very long time in the making. I've meant to write this up numerous times, and while this is not an issue here (as it tends to be elsewhere), it's something…Continue

Tantra is a spiritual practice, a transformation to higher states of conciousness. It gets a bad rap because in the West it is associated only with sexual pleasure, missing out breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, postures, diet and other practices. You will have to ask why we, in the west have jumped on this particular aspect of Tantra and not the others?

Our western/Christian culture is so bound up with sex as being shameful and sinful, unless being used for reproduction, that to suddenly come across a religion that talks of sex as holy or magical, has blown our minds & bodies! We have suddenly realised that sex is not the enemy of spiritual practice & attainment, but part of a valid path towards the divine in all things and people.

Unlike sex magic which is a transient experience used to change our outer world for a specific purpose, Tantra is practiced in order to manifest an estatic experience which changes our inner world for ever.

Neither of these are porn or should be seen as erotica. In order for this group to work it must make a clear separation between, Tantra, Sex Magick, and Tittilating sex. I am sure lessons have been learned and this will be done. Its still early days.

Blessings to you Sangraal. x

Skydancer: I, for one, was glad to see the other group gone. It was less about sex magic and more about cheap erotica. As someone who actually writes erotica, I know that there is a way to describe a process or technique without it becoming utter smut. As this is not my group, I will not say what is or is not appropriate. I can only step in if it were to begin looking like that other group, which seriously pushed ning tos. However, since this group owner is also a ning site owner elsewhere, I do not see it will ever be a problem... There still remains a lot we CAN discuss, it is not so much the subject, but how we present it...

Yes Sang...I see what you are saying. This clears up a lot for me in regards to what sex magic really is. The book I am reading right now about the kundalini awakening is a bit complex for me right now...but this makes sense now:)

Like Frater said, Jennifer, it can be considered sexual, but it's not really an element of sex magic. Rather, the whole process is centered around a rather holistic lifestyle. Yoga, especially including bhakti (devotional) is extremely important, so it cannot be striped of religion- as it is fundamentally a Hindu tantrik construct. Years, not days or weeks, of meditation and even dietary restrictions are part of the whole of it. There is absolutely no shortcuts to it- it can be counterproductive, even dangerous, to force it. You may experience a trickle of it in regular practice, but an unbalanced body that takes a small percentage of that whole: :(

Hi Guys,

New member here. I was a member of a Sex Magick group on the 'other' forum, but it was closed down. I will temper what I post here, so even my granny can read it, without blushing.

LOL @ Artemis...tried and true.  There are many strong aphrodisiacs avaliable in today;s world, and Patchouli is one of the best.  A special scallop and mussel dinner, a glass of red wine, and some Patchouli wafting lazily around the room...highlighted with some soft candlelight...what can be expected...? ;)

Right now I am reading about Kundilini Healing and it touches on Sex Magic or at least sexual energy...can those mean the same thing?...Can you expound a little more on what you mean by the conflict between Western Magic and Eastern Mysticism Sang...

Nah, Jennifer. Some of my practices have naturally included it at various points. It's a subject of which I am comfortable and familiar with, but I also have my red marker out to when associations of Tantra are applied. As we've discussed, it's something rather near and dear to me, and has relatively anything to do with sex or magick. I keep Western Magic and Eastern Mysticism appropriately compartmentalized when it comes to most matters extending beyond meditation because they can conflict rather than compliment.

Sure, the first thing that Spirit invokes is old hippie. This could get a bit odd, but ask for an old hippie and here I am. (be careful what you ask for, specially with sexually charged magick!)
