Hey Group! I have a question! Anyone tried to make moulds out of silicone or another substance? Anyone tried to make a 3D mould w/ success? Think you can teach me b'c I suck! lol

Just wanted to say hi, I love making things with my hands, whether its cross-stitching (not something I do regularly), knitting, baking, cake decorating or as I've just discovered polymer clay modelling. I also love writing stories.

I must admit; after some adjusting, I love the silky feel of the bamboo needles and the soy based yarn...a little pricey, but it just glides thru the fingers as you knit...if you have a chance to try it..do so by all means...I had to use one size smaller needle for the gauge, as it doesnt seem to yield quite as tight a stitch...of course, it could just be me..but this seems to be working quite well...

Stormy what did you lose? Sometimes you can find used crafting supplies on E-Bay, or check local Craigslist for used ones? :/ that sucks, but you're right - it opens doors!

A fellow Slytherin, how lovely. Our allergies are due, I would think, to living in such common surrounding. *said with a sneer* lol

Val - I love soy and bamboo based yarn! I don't knit, but have a lovely "Slytherin" set from a good friend. She prefers bamboo just b'c it's less slippery to knit with. I love them all to wear (And I am allergic to almost everything, so it's really helpful!)

No I hadn't. I'd love to hear about it when you get it. For years, the only choice I had was cotton and now there are getting to be all kinds of choices.

Have you seen the bamboo based yarn?  I was able to order some of that and I will let you know how it works out..

I'd be interested to hear any reports on it myself. I just saw it online the other day and wondered about it. I can't use wool because I'm allergic. I don't like the 'feel' of synthetics and Alpaca is expensive so I would love to hear about soy yarn.

Has anyone used the new soy based yarn?  I saw an ad for it in my latest knit mag and am curious if anyone has tried it...
