I've just begun reading some about this spiritual technique and was looking for some more insight into it's importance...such as when it would be used and is it a common practice during ritual? Is it complex? The book I am reading speaks as if it is easy to accomplish with proper grounding and centering first....Would love some input:)

Hi Jennifer,

I'm sure others can add more to this.. but pathworking from my standpoint is a meditation technique.

In terms of specific pathworking, the type I am most familiar with is the Tree of Life in Qaballah.. The practicioner starts at one sphere, and with practice "works their way up," the tree, based on words of power and correspondences that they have studied.

is this what you mean? I'm pretty sure that other guided mediations exist that you could consider pathworking as well, such as some past life regression ones etc.
Hi Shawn, thanks for replying:))

The book that I am reading is called Goddess Alive-Inviting the Celtic and Norse Goddesses into your Life....She's speaking of doing this pathworking to enter other realms to receive messages and inspiration perhaps...She talks of the three distinct forms of meditation being: inward meditation, guided meditation, and journeying...she indicates that you use the latter two to achieve pathworking and speaks of finding a protective talisman to guide you back..you can find this talisman through meditation...does any of this make sense? I have come across pathworking in other books I've read but only briefly.
She gives a great bit of detail on each Goddess and how you can do this pathworking to attune yourself with that particular Goddess...I've read a little bit about what you spoke of in Qaballah and I think it is a similar form of meditation..this woman talks about clearing the Chakras, grounding and centering before attempting the pathworking...
I've read that one Jennifer. I personally like the guided meditations where you get to meet the deity you are reading up on. I would say overall just take your time with meditation, it takes a while to get there for some people (myself included) take your time and do what works best for you. Some people use a path-working technique and others simply listen to music and let their minds relax. Best of luck Jennifer

Thanks Yarrow...I was hoping for some feedback on this book..I thought it seemed like a good book..glad to think someone else gives it the thumbs up...I actually have put it aside for a while to focus more on simple meditation techniques for a while...I can see when something is a little over my head to start;)
