RealPagan- Paganism for the Real World

Okay, I need some opinions on this topic. ....I love the show Ancient Aliens on the history channel and I have been highly intrigued by the Ancient Astronaut Theory for many years, ever since I read Chariots of the Gods by Erich VonDankien. Do you think this is contradictive to Pagan beliefs?

Absolutely not! Haha I love that show and that subject very much as well! I mean when they are talking about the Gods of old actually being aliens then I suppose it could be a little contradictive... but who really cares, it's just their opinions. I totally believe we have been visited and still are being visited by aliens AND I believe in the Divine forces that created and control our universe. Nice post!

well its all on how you see things. i would say because the gods are not human they could be considered aliens. and the gods did come to earth to teach us so its not unlikely that the theory could be true in some form.

It is intriguing. The ''leaps forward'' humanity has had in its history does suggest ''divine intervention'' on occasion. The theory that the Elohim of Judaic past were alien astronauts brings to light a certain question to me. What was it about certain peoples such as Norse, Greek, Roman and British that attracted the attention of specific Gods?

I have to admit I'm kinda hook on the show myself, it does make one think . As to it being contradiction to Pagan beliefs.
No not at all, I had by chance run in to him in the Florida Keys about 10 yeas ago an had the opportunity to sit an talk with Mr VonDanakin and a few of his scholarly buddy's a great length over a few cold ones on the very subject.(foot note don't ever play poker with him) An as he has stated on TV he think there is a lot more fact then fiction in what we call myths.Mr VonDanakin although a very religious man surprise me on his openness to Pagan faiths an his knowledge on the subject he was not the least bit judgmental or he was just very polite. he also felt that there's a great deal of text the "church is holding out on when it come to pagan religions an the subject of the "GODS"
If you think about it there are a great deal of thing that we though we knew but as it turn out we had a lot of things wrong..The fact that main stream thinking is that city building is less then 5,000 years old yet the myth in some culture go back way over 10,000 plus years. One of the thing that just blow me away is the city's that have been found under water like the one off the western tip of Cuba there no way you can chuck that up to natural rock formations I have sail over that part of the gulf 100 times I have never heard of that one at all mostly I guess to the fact it real real deep there. Having been to a number of the place you see on the show that are in both South an Central, America as well as Mexico the one thing that has always stuck in my mind is how and why in the world did they get that big block up there. It's not until you see one of those big freaking "rocks" do you get just how hard it would be to move that sucker. The fact that Jesuits burn 10,s of thousand of drawing and text of the unlucky people they came across in the "Americas" in the name of the "Church" This little fact was not known until just the last ten ago. Sadly some of the peoples we thought had no form of writing well it turns out they did in fact but it was all smash ,crush or burn in the name of "God". this has come to light from the letters an reports , journals of some of the monks and priest that were there, that have been found in Spain and the Vatican.
It is sad to think of the knowledge that has been wipe out by sheer stupidity.
