Fluttering through the flow

seeking direction and purpose

Pursuing the faint call of a whisper

A gentle promise of sweet content

Fluttering through the endless flow

Searching through layer upon layer

and colour upon colour

Yet not finding a constant trail

A broken trail scattered

in the wake of the flow

Beckoning in its tempting fragrance

Yet never truly revealing its source

Tired wings quivering against the flow

a deep sigh expelled in exhaustion

a tender body shaking with apprehension

Where will the whisper lead me next

each day its whispering breath intensify

pulling strongly at the soul

Why do you hide whisper?

Are your whispers true?

or do you lead me astray?

Tired wings still in anticipation

Resting waiting watching for

Wondering if it would ever be found

and where it will lead to next
