There are a myriad variety of topics posted on this site, some are very good, some are very questionable. Most people come here to learn, share and teach; there are solitary practitioners who come here because their local communities do not have resources available to them or perhaps they come here seeking knowledge in order to fit into their local communities. There are several excellent teachers here, mentors such as OakThorne, Lady Morgen, Lark and others who have received training In British Traditional Witchcraft, and other well grounded and rounded individuals who walk a nontraditional or eclectic path who have much to share.
These people validate themselves quite simply, they speak the truth, ask honest questions, and utilize the knowledge they gain from this site. Both teachers and students benefit from this site and each other.
Then there are those who come here seeking to mislead, cause chaos, and follow their own agenda. They post tripe that cannot possibly be validated, they promote the physically impossible, they seek to stroke their own egos while selling a pack of lies. When they post blogs or forum posts, they withhold or delete comments or questions about the validity of their material, questions about their purpose, and in some cases questions about their sanity.
I would like to suggest that anybody who is credible quote their sources or resources. If you read something in a book, site the book. If you learned something in a magical school or society, quote the source. If you had a dream and want to share something from that dream, tell us that what you are talking about was from a dream. If you had a vision, whether drug-induced or metaphysical, say that you are speaking of a vision. If you heard something from someone else, tell us who. In this way, meritless and incredulous fantasies and attempts to mislead can be limited… and avoided.
I would also like to suggest that if you comment on a blog or a forum post, and your commentary does not appear with the post, start your own blog or forum to specifically answer the post that you question, citing the post including its author as the reason for your follow-up post. In this way your observations and questions cannot be avoided or deleted unless it is by a moderator.
This is a quality site. Let's work together to eliminate any type of cancer that will cause the site to become less than it is. Learn, teach, question… but if you're here for something less than honorable, there are plenty of sites out there for scams, pretenders and idiots, find one and leave.
