Thanks for sharing midnight! That is awesome. i will have to try that recipe. I have had pesto before and didn't really care for the taste but that was years ago. I will let you know what I think.

I went to a cooking demonstration at the library on Sunday where the focus is using fresh herbs in your cooking. They were working with basil this time, and they gave me some basil to take home!
Here's a recipe for Basil Pesto Sauce:
2 cups basil
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup pine nuts
1 cup parmesan cheese

Blend basil and pine nuts in a food processor or blender. Slowly add olive oil and blend to desired consistency. Blend in parmesan cheese.

Great with chips, pasta, eggs, in sandwiches, etc. Go ahead and experiment!

I use an all natural and vegan soap base that I buy from elementsbathandbody.com. You just melt it and add your ingredients. For oatmeal make an oatmeal slurry and then strain and discard the wet oatmeal, add a pinch of powdered milk to the sticky liquid and then add it to the base, pour into the mold, coarsely chop dry steel cut oats and sprinkle it on top then I let it set for a few hours, wrap it and let it cure for at least 3 days before using.
