I thought I'd start a thread where those BTW Initiates on the board could introduce themselves and their background so that any Seekers here would know who might be able to answer questions they might have.

To start the ball rolling, I am a Gardnerian 2nd Degree. I began training with a Gardnerian group a bit over two years ago and just received my 2nd Degree this fall.

Prior to becoming Gardnerian I worked for many years in a TIW Tradition including running my own coven for 12 years.

Great idea!

I am a first degree initiate in the CVW (Central Valley Wicca) orders Silver Crescent and Kingstone. I am currently only training as a Silver Crescent.

Previously, I studied Soto Zen with the Olympia Zen Center.

Talia here...I am a 3rd Degree Alexandrian HPs of the DBG line. I have been running a coven for about 13 years. We are located in Marion County Florida. We run an inner and outer court. We meet with the OC for the New Moons. The IC gets together for the Full Moons and Sabbats...and we usually have OC Sabbats as well. We sometimes run open to the public Sabbats at a local pagan shop.
Raven here--HPS, Coven Synergy of the DBG line (the liberal side). My wife and I run the coven as HP/HPS (that would be part of the liberal) and at the moment are focusing primarily on inner court work with our students, in preparation for some elevations. We may be open to students in the next few months/year, and we're excited about that. Members of the coven are also involved in the Society of Elder Faiths to varying degrees, which our family founded. I'm a good resource for seekers who are interested in BTW, but are willing to trade full acceptance from the more traditional folks for a tradition that includes all of our Alexandrian heritage and the Chthonioi heritage that blends with it.
Alexandrian 2º, off the DBG line, from the Thalian family of covens. I'm based in Atlanta, where I'm the High Priest of the Stone Mountain Coven, and organizer for the Axis Mundi Outer Court (http://www.axis-mundi-oc.org).
Steve Paine here:- 3rd degree Alexandrian from the HoH family of Covens. I am currently High Priest of the Caul of Cerridwyn and have represented Wicca in the media on behalf of the Pagan Federation and other organisations. I have been involved in Trad Wicca for nigh on 28 years. I'm located in South Wales UK. I also run a pagan rock band 'LEGEND' that prinicipally comprises of Alexandrians.

Blessings Steve

For 25 years I was a solitary practcing Apache based rituals and training under an old Shaman. I joined an online coven as a seeker that is Traditional Wiccan based with a Garderian philosophy training program. Trough the years I slowly have worked my way from a Seeker to now what this coven classifies as a Senior Priest. I am due, finally, to be initiated as a High Priest at the Yule Sabbat. BB Jim
Unfortunately, Jim, while I'm sure your experience has been a meaningful one, there is no such thing as an online Traditional coven. The purpose of this thread is to identify those who are initiates in British Traditional Wicca. That would be Gardnerian, not eclectic online groups with a "Garderian philosophy" - there is no such thing as Gardnerian philosophy.

Since my training and philosphy does not quite fit what you are wanting please remove me from this group

Jim, this is a group for Traditional Wica, those interested, and their friends. If Shiori wished to remove you from the group she would have. I, myself, am not Traditional Wicca. I am Druid, but benefit from the information I gain here.

What Oak is saying is, though your practice may be Gardnerian "influenced," it is not, in fact, Gardnerian Wica, nor BTW. If you are interested in Traditional Wica, this is the right place to start. Oakthorne was not invalidating your path, as I am sure it is very meaningful to you. Your path is your path, but it is not Gardnerian, as BTW does not offer online training.

If you still wish to leave the group, you may do so. Simply click the "leave group" option. If you wish to stay and learn from Traditional initiates, please do so.

Blessings,
Strata

This group isn't open to only BTW initiates, Jim - it's also open to those with an interest in British Traditional Craft. No one is saying you aren't a perfectly good witch.

We're just saying that the witchcraft that you do is not the witchcraft that we do. You seem interested in at least the name "Gardnerian." Sure you don't want to stick around and see what it really means? Or is this going to be a "They told me the truth about a term I use for myself, so now I'm going to flee?"

We're here to educate, brother. There's no shame in having been wrong before; only in remaining so.

Oakthorne and Strata are right, Jim. You don't have to Trad Wiccan to be a member. Though you are not an initiate you are most welcome to stay and learn.
