The Pagan Read a Pagan Book Club meets every week to examine and discuss books of interest to pagans, such as common pagan titles; pagan and occult classics; mainstream publications; scholarly works of mythology, religion and anthropology (to name but a few); and even fiction. With so many really good books out there, its hard to know where to start. The book club is intended as a resource to help you start your journey, as well as a place to discuss the great books we've all read, no matter what our respective paths and experience.

In a small corner with a open chat for questions and comments on the book currently being read. Suggestions are welcome as I am gleaning for new books all the time and already have many in pdf format.

November 14 2010
EST 9pm-11pm
Section to be discussed :
Song Of The All-Mother
Lord Of The Wildwood
The Paradoxical Goddess

A Witch Alone by Marian Green

This text carries on the tradition of the solo village witch, emphasizing white rather than black magic. It is a practical manual of instruction for those who choose the solo path of study and particularly stresses the importance of being in tune with nature. Current book will run for 13 weeks and we can then choose another book by week 12

I welcome input and suggestion on books and if I can find it in a pdf. We can all agree to purchase books or discuss a book that we may already have on our bookshelves then we can include those also. I am aware that books are a expense that might not be able to handled by all members so that is why I suggested the pdf or maybe audio books that are public domain.

Linda Lovitt, there are plenty of recommendations out there. Here's my list ( Lark also has an excellent one out there.

But back to your library issue. I'm a librarian, and I'm wondering if you've tried inter-library loan. My library doesn't have a great selection, but I've been able to get most of the popular Pagan books I've wanted through ILL. So, once you find a few you're interested in, try putting in a request for the library to find them for you. Also, not to toot my own horn too much, here's my video on Pagan resources at the library (

Merry Meet all.  I'm fairly new to RP and new to this group. I haven#t read very many books on paganism yet. Only read two so far - 'The Real Witches Yearbook' and 'Secrets of Modern Witchcraft Revealed'. I just started reading 'Witch Crafting' by Phyliss Curott. I've enjoyed the two I've read and am liking 'Witch Crafting'. I also have a book by Soroya to read next. Would like to spread my knowledge away from 'the craft' and was wondering if anyone could suggest anything they think is worth reading, please.  :)

I WAS, but I get too distracted sitting at my computer. I had planned on getting back to it this week, as John got me an e-reader, but now we have to send it back because it wasn't what we thought it was. Now I have to wait. I was so frustrated I cried! LoL. If he would have done what he wanted to do, instead of listening to me and getting the cheaper one, I'd be happily reading right now.  I WILL be getting back to it, as soon as this is all taken care of though. I read the 1st 2 chapters at my computer and I retained nothing from it. :( So I'll be starting all over again when my new reader gets here.

I'm getting ready to move on to Chapter 3, but I wanted to anyone else doing this along with me or is it just me? If it is the latter, I won't bother the group with my rambling. :)
