Uses of an Eliphas Levi pentagram

I was at work, when a coworker noticed my pentacle, and commented that they had found a pendant similar to it the previous weekend. Needless to say, this peaked my interest, especially given the elaborate nature of it. After a bit of research, I found out it was called an Eliphas Levi pentagram. I was able to find a lot of informatiooil out the different symbols present on it, but almost nothing on the uses. Who would typically wear something of thIs nature? Is it a High Magick item? Does it have any potential ritual use? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
